The Family of Christ

The Family of Christ was founded by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, when the Lord Jesus called Evangelist Benua Chiweshe on the 15th of November 2015. He said “Benua I am calling you into the Family of Christ and you are going to be a mother to many. I have given you many children look after them, nurture them, teach them to walk in the light, teach them that, the Lord Jesus is The Lord and Saviour and is the only way to The Father. There are many orphans worldwide and I am bringing these children to you”. Evangelist Benua and her children became the first members of the family of Christ.

Membership

Membership to The Family of Christ is open to all. The Family of Christ started with only four members, but since then the Lord Jesus has been adding more children to his family. In the beginning, the journey was not easy as they had to live outside without proper food and clothing, due to homelessness. They all trusted in the Lord, who has been their provider. Their experience made them to understand what it is to live without and what it is to have and to share with others. They have all learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. As a way of thanking the Lord for being their provider, they are now reaching out to those families who are in need. Tha non-profit making organisation which mean we rely more on our family member and donors in order to reach out to other people in need and to bring them to Christ.

As a family we stand with each other and help those in need, in accordance with Matthew which teaches us what will happen when the Lord comes back again:

“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” Matthew 25:31‭-‬40

Benefits of joining The Family of Christ

In the book of Matthew 11:28-29 the Lord Jesus said:

"Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Joining the Family of Christ will completely transform your life and the lives of others. We encourage family members to make a difference in the communities they live, and to other family members who are also in need. We also stand with each other in prayer. A problem shared is a problem halved. Your life will not remain the same. We also support family members in their journey of salvation and lead them to Christ.

You are not alone on the journey of life. We face many challenges including spiritual, social, economic, and cultural factors. It is rare to live without trials. The situations we encounter develop our faith in the Lord, a relationship with the Lord Jesus and draw us closer to him. There are situations we can handle ourselves and others where we need assistance from others. As members of The Family of Christ, we get to experience the love of our Lord Jesus Christ and support each other. The Lord Jesus taught us a new way of living and commanded us to love others. He said: “ A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this, all will know that you are My disciples if you have a love for one another.” John 13:34‭-‬35. ‬

Let us join our hands together as we stand with each other and make the world a better place to live. For the reward of two is greater than one. Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. Ecclesiastes 4:9‭-‬10 ‬‬‬

Family of Christ celebrations

In recognition of what The Lord Jesus did for us, every year on the 15 of November we celebrate the anniversary of The Family of Christ. During these celebrations, the Lord Jesus leads us to families and individuals who are in need. It does not matter whether they are family members or not, we still reach out to those in need. It's a time of giving and sharing as we lead those in need to Christ.

Stand with us

You can stand with us and make a difference to families in need and do a service to the Lord. According to Proverbs 19.17 “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.

The Family of Christ supports children, families of former farmworkers and the elderly in Zimbabwe.

We form community help projects
We provide food packages and clothing to elderly people living in farming communities
We provide scholarships to children and orphans living in farming communities as we lead them to Christ

Prayer Request

Advice to Family Members

The Lord Jesus is more interested in us as his children (our souls), rather than what we bring to him and advises us to look deep down within ourselves to make sure that we are in the right standing with God. As members of The Family of Christ, we need to remember that this special time for giving and sharing with others, is also a time to examine ourselves. Matthew 5:23-24 states:

"Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First, be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift" Matthew 5:23‭-‬24 ‬
